The work deals with the lexical characteristics of the Internet texts, specifically blogs. It contains the comparison of usage of specific lexical devices of four randomly selected bloggers of two age categories. Blog posts of two bloggers under 30 years of age and two bloggers over 50 years of age are analysed. Both men and women are represented in each of the categories. Lexical aspect of blogs in terms of using or not using expresivity, phraseologisms, occasionalisms, internationalisms, neologisms, or archaisms is analysed in the work. The entire analysis builds on the general characteristics of blogs, bloggers, and the language used in the Internet communication.
